The CHDA Inc. is a nonprofit volunteer organization founded by a family whose child was born with complex congenital heart defects. The CHDA Inc.  is committed to providing support for families affected by congenital heart defects. We sponsor events and host projects to raise CHD Awareness, education, support and funding for CHD Research.  Our organization is working with the staff of Yale- New Haven Children's Hospital, Department of Pediatric Cardiology  to provide CHD families (newborn infants, children, teen and adults when hospitalized) with Comfort Care Baskets.  Through its parent-to-parent network, we provide support from those who "know" and have "the experience"  to other CHD families. Childcare is available, along with parent education at our support meetings. CHDA Inc's Mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of congenital heart defects through education, information exchange and research. What We Do: CHDA Inc. can put you in touch with local contacts within your region. They are families affected by CHD   who have volunteered their time to answer questions. Our local support group, CHD Support at Yale , is also available to answer questions. Both groups are excellent resources for services and referrals in your area.
